Leaving Ester

We left the small community of Ester, 5 miles south of Fairbanks, on August1. Before we left we took a couple photos around town that we would like to share with you.

This was our cabin. It was 16 feet by 24 feet. It did not have indoor plumbing but did have a sink and a grey water drain.

This was the local bar we would frequent. They had $1 PBR (Pabst Blue Ribbon) on tap.

The house next to the bar has a really neat front door. You can see the house in the background of the photo above.

This was a street sign we had to pass walking to the bar.

The community of Ester is called the People’s Republic of Ester or some variation of that.
